WAVE WALK

The project aims to transform the characteristic of nano-pillars on the wings of Cicada, into a pavilion situated in the Botanic Gardens in Ithaca, NY, USA. The weaving structure and patterns are inspired by the hierarchy of the nano-pillars, which obtains the knitted composition, as well as the zigzag orientation, which orients the viewport of the surroundings. Despite the common structure knowledge rarely considered in this project, the goal is to reconsider the transformation of a bug into an architectural pavilion, while reconsidering the duality and possibility of architecture existence.
